Heavy and impressive double-edge sword with solid cast brass handle marked with rack No. 565 and original brass-tipped scabbard. Blade marked "Chatellerault 1833," handle bright and clean, ropelike turning and simple, elegant scrolls on sides, scabbard leather somewhat dry from age with open seam on back.
