Spanish colonial mortar and pestle, brass, 1600s. 1808 grams total, 3" tall and 5-1/4" in diameter (the pestle 8" long). Well used but intact, a perfect match in color and style, the exterior of the mortar with four grotesque faces in panels, lightly encrusted and patinated in crevices. With photo-certificate, pedigreed to our Auction #13, with original lot-tag #1977.
