Cartagena, Colombia, cob 8 reales, Philip IV, mintmark and assayer not visible (RN-A), without pomegranate in shield (first issue of mint, 1621-22), rare, Grade 2. Restrepo-M41; S-C2; KM-3.2; CT-251. 12.63 grams. Corroded around edge (somewhat truncated) but with most of shield and cross (well detailed and distinctive), toned in crevices, more like Grade 3 in our opinion but worthwhile as the rare sub-type struck as early as 1621. With Fisher tag and photo-certificate #1033 (corners torn). Recovered from: Santa Margarita, sunk in 1622 west of Key West, Florida
