Italy, Banca D'Italia, 1,000 lire, 10-2-1948, serial N165 017476, salvaged from the Andrea Doria (1956), in large PCGS Currency capsule and promotional case. 12-1/2" x 8-1/4" x 2" (whole box). Mostly intact (~80 percent complete) and surprisingly well-preserved compared to most Italian 1,000 lire recovered from the wreck, degradation around edges yet interior intact with full women's vignette, some staining. The note is encased in a lucite holder contained in a display box and comes with a salvager's certificate as well as a DVD copy of the documentary "S.S. Andrea Doria: A Journey of Adventure."
