KUSHAN: Kanishka I, ca. 127-152, AV ¼ dinar (2g), G-47, Kanishka standing, holding tall spear and offering a sacrifice at the altar // Athsho standing, holding diadem; bold strike from slightly worn dies, choice EF, RRR. Göbl lists only 1 example of this type, a severely worn specimen, probably of the same reverse die, uncertain for the obverse. There are just two examples on CoinArchives, both from the same dies as this piece. Interestingly, the reverse die for this piece is the same reverse die as Göbl-41, the bust above the clouds type! This substantiates the rarity of the Athsho quarter dinars of Kanishka I (and most other quarter dinars of this ruler).
