KUSHAN: Huvishka, ca. 155-187, AV ¼ dinar (1.87g), G--, Donum Burns-, Huvishka seated, with legs crossed, upon the clouds, holding staff, somewhat blundered legend around (as found on many of his quarter dinars) // deity Nanashao (without the last A, thus NANAShO), nimbate, holding cornucopia, VF, RRR. This appears to be a totally unpublished obverse type for the quarter dinars of Huvishka, but is known for two exceedingly rare full dinars, one portraying Nana (Göbl-299) on the reverse, the other with Ardoksho (Göbl-305), both listed by Göbl with just one known example. Surprisingly, the cross-legged portrait above the clouds is common for the copper coins of Huvishka, which are also frequently with blundered obverse text.
