POST-HABBARIDS OF SIND: Abu'l-Qasim, after 1031, AR damma (0.37g), A-4565, cf. Fishman-LH6, citing Abu'l-Qasim below the first half of the kalima on the obverse, and the 'Abbasid caliph al-Qa'im bi-Amr (Allah) around the central triangle on the reverse (thus not related to the Fatimids), bold VF-EF, RRR. Fishman assigned this type to the Fatimid al-Mustansir, but that is clearly not the case for this piece. Abu'l-Qasim could be the kunya of the Ghaznavid Mahmud, who died about a year before the accession of the Abbasid caliph al-Qa'im, or the kunya of an unidentified local ruler.
