UMAYYAD: AE fals (3.96g), al-Madina Ma'din Amir al Mu'minin, ND, A-A183, decent strike with some minor weakness near the rim, clear mint name, VF, R. This mint name is now assigned to al-Rusafa in Syria, the ancient Sergiopolis, south of al-Raqqa in Syria, confirmed by coin finds in that region but never in Arabia; an important Umayyad palace was erected at that site during or shortly before the time of the Umayyad caliph Hisham.
