ABBASID: al-Ma'mun, 810-833, AR dirham (2.96g), Zaranj, AH207, A-223.4, citing Dhu'l-Yaminin above reverse field, followed by a'azzahu Allah and the governor Ibn al-Qusi below, choice VF, RRR. Dhu'l-Yaminin, "possessor of the two right hands, " actually refers to the first Tahirid ruler, Tahir b. al-Husayn, who died early in the year AH207. The same upper reverse inscription is best known on coins dated AH207. This type can alternatively be considered a Tahirid rather than 'Abbasid coin.
