SICILY, Syracuse. Hiketas II. 287-278 BC. Lot of two (2) overstruck Æ. Both coins: Laureate head of Zeus Hellanios right / Eagle standing left, wings spread, on thunderbolt. BAR Issue 39; CNS 172 OS; HGC 2, 1449. VF, dark green patina. One overstruck on an issue of Agathokles (head of Herakles / lion [CNS 151]), the other over an earlier issue of Hiketas (head of Persephone / biga [CNS 122]). LOT SOLD AS IS, NO RETURNS.
