SELEUCIS and PIERIA, Antioch. Trajan. AD 98-117. AR Tetradrachm (28.5mm, 15.16 g, 7h). Struck AD 100. Laureate head of Trajan right, set on eagle standing right; palm frond to left, club to right / Laureate bust of Melkart-Hercules right, with lion's skin tied around neck. Prieur 1482 (Tyre); McAlee 452/1 (this coin illustrated); RPC III 3526/9 (this coin cited). Good VF, lightly toned, some light scratches. Rare, only seven known to Prieur, five in CoinArchives, and twenty specimens cited by the authors of RPC, including this coin.
