SELEUCIS and PIERIA, Antioch. Trajan. AD 98-117. AR Tetradrachm (23.5mm, 14.23 g, 6h). Struck AD 113/114. Laureate head of Trajan right, set on eagle standing right; club to left / Laureate bust of Melkart-Hercules right, with lion's skin tied around neck. Prieur 1518 (Tyre; this coin); McAlee 463; RPC III 3550/6 (this coin cited). VF, toned, reverse struck slightly off center, traces of verdigris. Very rare, only seven known to Prieur, four in CoinArchives, and ten specimens cited by the authors of RPC, including this coin.
