Caracalla. AD 198-217. Æ Sestertius (32mm, 28.07 g, 12h). Rome mint. Struck AD 211. M AVREL ANTONINVS PIVS AVG BRIT, laureate bust right, slight drapery / VICT BRIT [P M TR P] XIIII COS III, S C in exergue, Victory standing right, left knee bent, left foot on helmet, placing right hand on trophy in center, composed of helmet, cuirass, shields, spears, and greaves; at foot of trophy on right, captive seated left on ground with hands tied behind back; on right, veiled and draped female figure, standing facing, both hands on hips. RIC IV 483c var. (bust type); Banti 135; SCBC 659A; BMCRE 266. Good Fine, green patina, earthen deposits, areas of roughness, scrape on obverse. Rare.

According to SCBC, this coin was struck to commemorate "the victories achieved by the Romans in Scotland during the campaigns led jointly by Septimius Severus and Caracalla in AD 209, and by Caracalla alone the following year during his father's illness."
