SELEUKID EMPIRE. Seleukos I Nikator. 312-281 BC. AR Tetradrachm (27.5mm, 17.06 g, 12h). In the name of Alexander III of Macedon. Antigoneia or Seleukeia in Pieria mint. Struck circa 300 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Nikephoros seated left; monogram in left field. SC 27; Le Rider, Antioche 2 (A1/P2); WSM 1, dies A1/P1; Price 3191; HGC 9, 9a; Weber 2134 (same dies). VF, attractively toned, patches of find patina on reverse. Very rare issue in the name of Alexander with Zeus Nikephoros.
