Lucius Verus (AD 161-169). AE sestertius (33mm, 25.65 gm, 11h). XF. Rome, AD 164. L AVREL VERVS - AVG ARMENIACVS, laureate head right / REX ARMENIIS DATVS IMP II TR P IIII COS II, Verus seated left on low platform extending right hand; Sohaemus, King of Armenia standing left adjusting diadem on head; officers on platform beside Verus; S C in exergue. RIC III 1374. An interesting example with very small legends to the obverse right because the die cutter was unable to incorporate the AVG on the left side as is standard with this issue.
