Aurelian. A.D. 270-275. AE antoninianus (24.45 mm, 3.39 g, 7 h). Rome mint, struck A.D. 270/71. IMP CL DOM AVRELIANVS AVG, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Aurelian right - looking very much like Quintillus / LAETITIA AVG, Laetita standing facing, head left, holding wreath and anchor set on globe // XII. RIC 32; C 118. Rough VF / F. Rare (?).

This portrait appears to be Quintillus, or even Gothicus. It was not too unusual for dies of the old and/or recently deceased emperor to be re-worked (and the legend on this one might well have been produced by re-cutting a Quintillus legend) particularly before an official portrait was circulated which the engravers could follow. All three - Gothicus, Quintillus and Aurelian (early in his reign) had an antoniniaus with this same Laetitia reverse with XII in the exergue.
