Alexius I Comnenus. 1081-1118. AE tetarteron (21.2 mm, 2.95 g, 6 h). Post-Reform coinage. Thessalonica mint, Struck 1092-1118. I-C, X-C in field to left and right of nimbate bust of Christ facing, wearing pallium and colobium, and raising right hand in benediction, and holding book of Gospels in left hand / + AΛ-Z-[I ΔЄCΠ] (or similar, incomplete, crowned bust facing, wearing jewelled chlamys, holding cruciform scepter and globus cruciger. SBV 1929. Good VF for type, large but irregularly shaped flan, die break reverse, dark olive patina.
