CRUSADER IMITATIONS OF ARABIC COINS. KINGDOM OF JERUSALEM. Imitations of Damascus Dirhems from an Uncertain Crusader Mint. Lot of two dirhams (12XX AD), mint?, Damascus type but different style, with the names of the Ayyubid an-Nâsir Yûsuf ibn Muhammad and the caliph al-Musta'sim billâh, with the letters sîn-fâ in Yûsuf appearing as an annulet above or interrupting a straight line. The second mîm in the father's name Muhammad is always missing. SNATübingen IVa 488-491 (erroneously under 'Akkâ because of similarities in the date alf with the 1253 dirhams from 'Akkâ). Rare. Two specimens both with the marginal segments flat or off flan,
otherwise very fine

Bought from Münzgalerie München in January 1988.
