CRUSADER IMITATIONS OF ARABIC COINS. COUNTY OF TRIPOLIS. First Phase, First Half of the 12th Century. Imitation of a Fatimid dinar of the caliph al-Mustansir billâh, 427-486 H/1036-1094 AD, type Nicol I1 (used 439-478 H.) based on Tarâblus 465 H., both sides with a five line inscription, crude but generally legible although the mint/date formula is garbled. Emission mark: Arabic tamma repeated three times between the two circles around the field.
