THE COUNTY OF TRIPOLI. ANONYMOUS. Copper coin, ca. 1250-1268. Cross with pellets at the ends and a pellet in the first and fourth angles. Rv. Six-rayed star with pellets at the ends. 0.63 g. Metc. -, Schlumb. IV, 26, MPS p. 176-177, 30 or 35. Octagonal flan.
Fine

Schlumberger attributes this type to Tripoli. Sabine, NC 1980 p. 101, doubts that attribution and suggests an association with Sidon. Malloy/Preston/Seltman have it under the heading "Tripoli or Uncertain Syria". Bought from Byzantium Coins, Wolfgang Leimenstoll, Gundelfingen, in April 2011.
