El morabetino es, en su origen, la unidad de oro en el sistema monetario de los almorávides; corresponde al valor del dinar. Su peso era de 3,85 gr. Castilla batio morabetinos en Toledo (en árabe: Medina Tulaytula) en tiempos de Alfonso VIII, con leyendas en árabe, pero de contenido cristiano y añadiendo las letras ALF, relativas al nombre del rey. Todos ellos llevan la fecha de la  era de Safard, que comienza en el año 38 a.C., año en el que se completó la conquista de Hispania por Augusto. Leyenda en lengua árabe cuya traducción es: Anverso. En el centro: Príncipe / de los católicos / Alfonso, hijo de Sancho / ayúdele Dios / y protéjale. En el exterior: Fue acuñado este dinar en Toledo el año 1250 de Safard. Reverso. En el centro: Cruz / Imán de la iglesia / del Mesías, el Papa / ALF. En el exterior: En el nombre del Padre y del Espíritu Santo el que creyera y fuera bautizado se salvará.

The "morabetino" is, in its origin, the gold unit in the almoravidian monetary system: it corresponds to the value of the dinar. Its weight was about 3,85 gr. Castile beated morabetinos in Toledo (in arabic: Medina Tulaytula) in times of Alphonsus VIII, with inscriptions in arabic, but christian content and adding the letters ALF, related to the king´s name. Every each of them show the date of the Safard era, which beggins in 38 b.C, the year that Augustus completed the conquest of Hispania. Incription in Arabic language which translation is: Obverse.
