Carlos III (1759-1788). 1/2 real. 1770. México. FF. (Cal-no cita). Ag. 1,67 g. Busto de Carlos III y en leyenda CARLOUS IV. Marcas de punzón. Inédita. Los ensayadores FF en la ceca de México abarcan de 1778 a 1784 si bien también conocemos piezas de 1772 y 1771. Suponemos que esta moneda en el tránsito del columnario al busto oficial de Carlos III la pudieron ensayar Francisco de la Peña y Flores y Francisco de Rivas Augusto. Creemos que hasta 1771 no aparecieron las primeras monedas de 2 Reales con el busto de Carlos III pero se pudieron hacer algunas pruebas con la fecha de 1770. En el tránsito de la Ly. CARLOS III a CARLOS IV se pudieron utilizar algunos cuños que antes habían sido desechados y este pudo ser uno de ellos. MBC+. Est...600,00.

The assayers FF in the Mexican Mint range from 1778 to 1784, although we also know pieces from 1772 and 1771. We suppose that this coin in the transition from "columnarios" to the official bust of Carlos III could be minted by Francisco de la Peña and Flores and Francisco de Rivas Augusto. We believe that until 1771 the first coins of 2 reales with the bust of Carlos III did not appear but some proofs could be done with the date of 1770. In the transit of the legend CAROLUS III to CAROLUS IV could be used some dies that had previously been discarded and this could be one of them. Choice very fine. Est...600,00.
