Bank of Scotland, Essay £1, 1 January 1945, S 0247528, grey-green on yellow underprint, bank seal at centre and values to lower corners, purple ink 'Cancelled' handstamp and 'X' across centre, reverse very dark green-grey with arms at centre flanked by values,, (PMS BA 97a), uncirculated and a lovely example of a 'Curister Essay' design.
