Israel. Judaica, Two Rare Presentation Medals. 1962. Rare Israel Shavit Rocket Presentation Medal. The obverse of the medal shows a rocket soaring into the sky from Israel, and the biblical verse "There shall come a star from Jacob" (Num. 25:17). The medal's reverse depicts in an incused square the State medal, the words "presented to", the signature of David Ben Gurion, and his name and function of Prime Minister. Only 450 of these official State of Israel medals were minted at Emanograph. They were not sold to the public. Medal's specifications are 59mm., 118 gm. of .935 fine silver. About Uncirculated, with some scattered speck of toning. A very attractive and rare medal.
