Lot includes from Hungary: Andreas II (1205-1235) Tet above crescent & star/Judaea Capta type; Bela IV (1235-1270) portrait with Hebrew "Tet/Eagle; tet within inscription/inscription (Rethy 244); Count Chenok under Bela IV Chet within wreath/fleur de lis; Stefan V (1270-1292) portrait/Aleph between two doves. A very rare issue from Poland: Mieszko III (1173-1202) facing king/Hebrew inscription. Mieszko III, 1173-77 & 1195-1202, gave a life grant to the Jews to lease the state mint, and Polish currency in the last two decades of the 12th century was stamped solely in Hebrew (see photo).
