JUDAEA, Aelia Capitolina (Jerusalem). Caracalla. AD 198-217. AR Tetradrachm (27.5mm, 12.32 g, 5h). Struck AD 215-217. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Eagle standing facing on filleted thyrsus, head and tail left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; grape bunch between legs. Prieur 1623; Meshorer, Aelia –; Sofaer –. VF, toned, a touch of porosity, a few light scratches, slight reverse die shift. Extremely rare, only two known to Prieur, and none in CoinArchives.
