IRELAND. Edward IV. First reign, 1461-1470. AR Groat (24mm, 1.91 g, 1h). Class V, Heavy 'Cross and Pellets' coinage. Waterford mint; im: rose. Struck 1465. Crowned facing bust within tressure of arches / Long cross pattée, triple pellets in quarters; saltire in first and fourth quarters. SCBI 22 (Copenhagen), –; cf. D&F 119 (pellets instead of saltires); SCBC 6303. Fine, darkly toned, scratches under tone, clipped, edge chip.
