Shadi Beg's title and the date of 806 that appear on the reverse cannot be a simple reuse of an ancient punch, since in Shadi Beg's coinage the title and the date don't coexist on the same side. A possible explanation would be that Shadi Beg, whilst officially maintaining his sovereignty, delegated his power on the lower Volga to his relative and successor Pulad Khan. They were both grandsons of Urus Khan (AH 770-779).
