W Stigwood is thought to be William Stigwood, born 1812, who was convicted for theft and simple larceny at the Old Bailey at the age of 19 in 1831. He was indicted for stealing two hats to the value of 6s. 6d and was sentenced to transportation for the period of 7 years. He arrived at Van Diemen's Land on 22nd March 1832 aboard the Ship Gilmore.
