Victoria, 1837, Guildhall, Corporation of London, silver medal. By W.Wyon. 55mm, 76.0g. (Eimer 1304, BHM 1775). Two piercings on edge where the medal has previously been in a swivel mount. Surface marks otherwise about Very Fine. Very rare in silver.
Wyon's portrait of Queen Victoria on this medal was subsequently used on the first postage stamp, the Penny Black, in 1840. Only 120 examples were struck in silver.
