BRITISH WEST AFRICA. Elizabeth II, 1956, One Tenth Penny (244). (KM32). All Uncirculated with lustre. The key date in the series.
The 1956 1/10th Penny had a mintage issue of 2,400,000 but the majority of this issue was immediately withdrawn and melted making it a very scarce issue with individual examples selling for hundreds of pounds (Krause lists at $700 in MS60). This group of 244 pieces was taken from a recently discovered mint bag.
Estimate: 600 GBP
