France, Napoleon, c.1815, Set of 10 uniface, painted lead medals depicting various scenes from the French Revolution to the Premier Empire. By Bertrand Andrieu. Various diameters from 66mm to 138mm. Housed in two trays in the style of a book embossed to spine with 'Napoleon Medals – By Andrieu'. 5 medals have glass covers, one of which is cracked in two. The Empress Josephine medal has an edge bruise otherwise the medals are generally Extremely Fine with the paint well preserved. The front panel of the case is detached. A most impressive presentation set of French medals and scarce.
