Qing Dynasty. Kuang-hsü Shanxi Jingbao ("Mirror") Sycee of 50 Taels ND (1875-1908) AU, cf. Cribb-Class I.B.9 (48 Taels, Yi Bank). 67x103mm. 1835.67gm. Cast at the Tai Bank, Qi County, Taiyuan Prefecture. Stamped in two vertical columns, reading: "Guang Xu Nian Yue" (Guangxu Period) and "Qi Xian Tai Ji" (Qi County, Tai Bank); and a small round central stamp: "Guang" (possibly referring to Guangxu). Quite appealing and lustrous, the two rectangular stamps bold and deeply impressed with clear calligraphy. Traces on inking appear on the face and one side, as well as a small round stamp on one side. Comes with a padded storage case.
