Meiji copper Pattern 5 Rin Year 32 (1899) MS64 Brown PCGS, KM-Pn30, JV-Y101. Considerable mint red color remaining, with a sharp strike for the issue, and no significant flaws. An extremely rare Pattern that is a bit of an enigma. It is very similar to the design that was accepted for the circulation issue in 1916, though oddly 17 years passed between the creation of this pattern and the release of the general circulation type.
