Showa nickel Proof Pattern 10 Sen Year 8 (1933) PR65 NGC, Osaka mint, cf. KM-Y54, cf. JNDA 01-28. Dots with 'Specimen' variety. Obv. Central band flanked by semi-circle pattern; dot to left and right, legend with RY date above and below. Rev. Central hole garnished by karakusa sprays; denomination and 'specimen' across field, chrysanthemum above, paulownia below. This shimmering gem ranks as the finest of this scarce issue certified by NGC to-date. The other, a PR64 previously sold in our NYINC Signature Auction (Sale 3051, Lot 34336) for $5,640, including Buyer's Premium. Lightly textured in the obverse fields, as struck, with a pronounced flash defining the reverse.
