Japan Greater Japan Imperial National Bank, Nagahama #21 1 Yen ND (1873) Pick 10 JNDA 11-14 PCGS Fine 12. The elusive city of Nagahama is seen as the place of issue on this example printed in the United States, in an American style but with all Japanese vignettes. The striking vignettes and especially the green and black backs are reminiscent of First Charter US Nationals. A Samurai warrior is noticed on the right front and the vignette of the tsunami destroying the Mongols at Hakata harbor on the back. Restorations, small edge tears.
