Singapore Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China 100 Dollars 1.12.1859 Pick Unlisted KNB8 PMG Very Fine 20. A rare, pre-printed note for 100 Dollars in Singapore. As the denomination was pre-printed, it most likely circulated like bank checks today and acted as currency before it was finally presented to the bank and redeemed. These notes would have served as the first banknotes in Singapore and the Straits Settlements before the delivery of currency. The Cancelled stamps remain bright on this example.
