To left and right, Θ / Π/AN-T/Є/Λ; above, +KЄ R'Θ, ('Saint Pantaleon - Lord, help') Nimbate bust of Saint Pantaleon, holding medical instruments in his right hand and medicine box in his left. Rev. To left and right, Θ / Γ/Є-ω/P/Γ,; above, ΛЄONT, ('Saint George - Leon') Nimbate facing bust of Saint George, holding a spear over his right shoulder, and resting a shield on his left arm. Unpublished in the standard references. A small but very charming seal. Minor mark on the reverse, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
St. Pantaleon was (and still is) the patron saint of doctors and midwives.
