SYRIA, Seleukis and Pieria. Laodicea ad Mare. 78/7-17/6 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 15.02 g, 12 h), CY 23 = 59/8. Turreted, veiled and draped bust of the city-goddess to right. Rev. ΛAOΔIKEΩN / THΣ IEΡAΣ KAIΣ - AΥTONOMOΥ Zeus seated left, holding Nike in his right hand and long scepter in his left; in field to left, ΓK; below throne, monogram of KA; in exergue, ΣE. Mørkholm, Autonomous, 13b. Beautifully toned. Some die rust on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
