LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 340-330 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 21 mm, 7.81 g, 6 h). Head of Demeter to right, wearing wreath of grain ears, triple-pendant earring and simple necklace, and with a light veil at the back of her head. Rev. META Barley ear with leaf to right; above leaf, oinochoe; below leaf, ΦI. HN Italy 1568. Johnston A8.3. Struck from a somewhat worn obverse die, otherwise, good very fine.
