Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. As (Copper, 26 mm, 9.88 g, 4 h), Lugdunum, 10-7 BC. CAESAR PONT MAX Laureate head of Augustus to right. Rev. ROM ET AVG Front elevation of the Altar of Lugdunum, decorated with the corona civica between laurels and stylized figures; altar flanked by columns surmounted by statues of Victory standing vis-à-vis, each holding a palm frond in her right hand and wreath in her left. BMC 550. Cohen 240. RIC 230. A very attractive example with a beautiful green patina and a fine portrait. The reverse struck somewhat off center, otherwise, good very fine.
