Ca. 2nd century B.C. Æ 1/2 karshapana (17 mm, 3.16 g). Five punches: bull standing right, six-armed symbol, tree-in-railing, male figure holding stick, river below / Blank. Pieper 459 (with Ujjain symbol). Extremely rare. Fine.

The human figure holds a stick and a water-pot (kamandalu), indicating an early depiction of Shiva. This type with proto-Shiva figure and bull is the rarest in the Eran series of punchmarked copper coins. The six-armed symbol is unrecorded â€" Pieper records this type with an Ujjain symbol only (Pieper 459).
