Balarama-Sankarshana standing facing, holding club and plough; Greek legend around / Goddess standing right, holding fillet or mala (Hindu prayer beads); Kharoshthi legend around Rajadirajasa mahatasa Moasa (of Great King of Kings Maues). HGC 12, 539; Senior 20.1. This specimen has a massive flan. Very rare. Fine.

An important coin in Hindu iconography. Balarama, the elder brother of Lord Krishna, is shown here holding a plough - one of the earliest depictions of this deity.
