Ca. 1st century B.C. Terracotta sealing (16 mm, 3.10 g). Brahmi legend Brahmagutasa, struck twice / Blank. Rare and choice. Very fine.

This sealing carries the stamp of a local ruler or official called Brahmagupta. This type of sealing was used in transporting goods to ensure the local taxes or tolls were paid. Interestingly, it is stamped twice, which is quite hard to find.
