Ramagupta. Ca. A.D. 375. Æ unit (7 mm, .31 g). Garuda seated facing / Circular Brahmi legend Maharaja Rama(gupta). This circular legend type is very hard to find. Very rare. Fine.
Ramagupta was the son of Samudragupta and elder brother of Chandragupta II. He eventually lost out in the leadership struggle after the death of their father. Ramagupta's copper coins are the only coins issued in his name.
