Someshvara Deva. Ca. A.D. 1169-1179. BI jital (16 mm, 3.14 g). Horseman right, with Devanagari legend (Sri) Some(svara Deva) around / Bull seated left, with Devanagari legend Asa(vari Sri) Samanta (Deva) around. Deyell 219. Somesvara's coins are hard to find. Rare. Very fine.
This specimen has the Nagari number 3 on the bull’s hump. The importance of this number â€" whether a regnal date or mint issue â€" is not known.
