SICILY. Naxos. Circa 461-430 BC. Tetras or Trionkion (Silver, 7.5 mm, 0.24 g, 7 h). Kantharos flanked by three pellets (value mark). Rev. Bunch of grapes on vine branch with leaves and tendrils. Cahn -. HGC 2, 979. Manganaro 40. SNG ANS -. Extremely rare, and among the best known examples, with a grey patina as found. Minor pitting, otherwise, very fine.
