CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 325-280 BC. Diobol (Silver, 11.5 mm, 1.13 g, 3 h). Head of Athena to left, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with a wing. Rev. Herakles kneeling to left with his head and body turned to right, holding his club in his right hand and the Nemean lion with his left; in the exergue, E. Cf. HN III 976 & Vlasto 1364. A toned example with an interesting depiction of Herakles's struggle with the lion. Rough areas on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
