KINGS OF MACEDON. Demetrios I Poliorketes, 306-283 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 17.16 g, 4 h), Amphipolis, c. 291-290. Diademed head of Demetrios to right, with bull's horn above his forehead. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΔΗΜΗΤΡΙΟΥ Poseidon, nude to the waist, seated left on a pile of rocks, holding aplustre in his right hand and trident with his left; inner left and right, monogram. Newell 108 (same dies). SNG Oxford 3251. Scarce, Newell only knew of a single example in London; attractive and pleasant. Very fine.
