ATTICA. Athens. Circa 449-404 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 23 mm, 17.23 g, 3 h), c. 430s-420s. Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet with palmette and three olive leaves. Rev. ΑΘΕ Owl standing right, head facing; behind, olive spray and crescent moon. HGC 4, 1597. Kroll 8. A wonderful example of fine style. Flan faults, tiny grafitto, and with a slightly off center obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
